The committee met on April 2 to review the four strategic initiatives that were drafted in February. The committee discussed and came to consensus around critical success indicators for the initiatives-- in other words, the ways in which each initiative would be measured for success. Timelines for achieving each goal were also designed, with some goals extending into the 2018-19 school year. Short term "tactical goals" were drafted for the 2014-15 school year. The initiatives and tactical goals are posted below. The committee ended the meeting by comparing each initiative to a criteria checklist, as well as checking each initiative for alignment with the established mission, vision, purpose, and values that had previously been established. Over the next month, sub-committees will be trained and supported through the process of determining the action steps that are necessary in order to achieve the tactical goals that support each strategic initiative. Each initiative will have a Tactical Team of 5-10 members, including one committee member, that will work together in 2013-14 and 2014-15. All staff were invited to volunteer for a team via an email that went out on April 17. An invitation for parents to volunteer will be forthcoming. Interested parents may also contact Aimee LeBlanc, Director of Student Services at aleblanc@sd25.org to volunteer.
The committee will have one final meeting in May to review the strategic plan in its entirety. The plan will be presented to the Board of Education on June 19 as an information item, and again on July 17 for approval.

factors review, each committee member had the teamopportunity to select the the factors that would inform the strategic initiatives. Each member was provided with five sticker dots with which to vote for the factors that they felt would have the greatest impact on the Department and would best align with the vision of the Department. After voting, the committee agreed upon four strategic initiatives that would guide the future work of the District. Moving forward, the committee will begin to target critical success indicators for each initiative.
Due to ISAT administration and Spring Break, the committee will not meet in March. The next meeting is scheduled for April 2, 2014.

to review the data from the External and Internal Factors survey that all members completed in December. The team examined all of the external and internal factors and forces that impact the Department, including things like budget, mandates, family needs, and internal culture. We examined how we see those forces impacting the Department and how the Department could respond to those impacts. Although the team was able to complete discussion around all of the external forces, they did not finish reviewing the internal forces. This discussion will continue at the February meeting.
