Welcome to the Arlington Heights School District 25 Special Services Review Committee Wiki!

Collaborate…Support…Empower for Excellence.

The mission of the Department of Student Services is to meet the unique needs of each student by providing high quality specialized services in collaboration with staff, families, and the community.

The Department of Special Services is in the beginning stages of a strategic planning process. A core committee comprised of staff, parents, and administrators will work together over the next year to develop a strategic plan. This plan will include development of a department mission and vision statement, belief statements, long-term goals, and action plans to meet the goals. The committee will be working with Leadership Results, a local company that works with schools districts and businesses to develop and maintain strategic plans. The committee will utilize information from the Futures Educational Services Analysis, the results of the NSSEO Needs Assessments, feedback from the staff and community Listening Sessions, and additional survey data from Leadership Results to inform the process. The committee gathered for a kick-off meeting on May 22, 2013 and will meet regularly from September 2013 through May 2014. A final draft of the strategic plan is anticipated for presentation for approval to the Board of Education in June of 2014. There will opportunities for parents, staff, and community members who are not members of the core committee to give feedback and participate in aspects of the planning process throughout the 2013-14 school year. Please check this site for updates following meetings through the year!
